No, I’m having a problem with the shittiness of their music: I was mocking the idea of Nowell being this diverse guy in anything other than his music.

Oddly enough he is a genuinely great Bouzouki player.

You nailed it alright. Keep going on Broseph.

I always felt like whoever did the screen play was a Simpsons fan..

I know it just came out, but any chance of a review of the new James Ellroy book? It’s the sequel to “Perfidia” and it looks pretty good, albeit in the typical spare style.

I always blindly trust racist idiots, but that’s just me.

We try not to bring it up around him...

“Trigger warning” - you’re a gem, Broheim.

I didn’t until you brought up Eddie Deezen...

It’s a great song but you’re right, not a greatest hits album. I did love in the book how any tape/CD left in Crowley’s car would turn into the Greatest Hits album after awhile...

You say that, but I also said the same thing about a Deadwood film and...well, sometimes time makes a fool of us all.

I only knew Jim DeRogatis for his incredible (and genuinely moving: you can see DeRogatis generally loved the subject) book on Lester Bangs “Let It Blurt”. But besides being a great reviewer, he turns out to be a great guy and someone who does his best to do good. We need more folks like him in the world right now.

Shit, I forgot all about that! Those were great. I’m getting nostalgic for a a message board: I must be getting old.

Dowd and Ig are both great writers.

Warren Oates here, and THANK YOU for the kind words and mentioning me in the same breath as ZMF. It was a great community to be part of, and I genuinely miss the camaraderie we had back then.

Oh, we still try to read the site. But it’s so packed with sheer Kinja crap that it’s become labor intensive.
