Ghost of AV Club Posters Past

Wow, so edgy you cut. Up next is your hatred of The Beatles?

Great column! And great writing. This is why I still come to the AV Club: because of in depth and well written film essays like this.

I’m calling horseshit: Kubrick was not a ‘coke’ guy in any sense of the word.

Petey from the Little Rascals!

This looks so fucking awesome...I WANT TO SEE IT NOW!

I remember being obsessed with the strip club scene...also as a fledgling guitar geek the EVH score seemed important at the time (it wasn’t)

I will say College was more Animal House (well, maybe not the parade) then HS was to John Hughes...but that might just be my admitted binge drinking excuse.

I taped The Wild Life off cable back then and I would watch it every now and then. It was a serviceable movie, but pretty sure the real reason I watched it was the nudity.

High School from 87 to 91 here, but YUP. I hated those fucking John Hughes films and this one was...okay I guess?

Personally I think both are kind of terrible.

In her defense, as a teenager in the late 80's she was positively uplifting in an all-time great Married with Children episode as a French foreign exchange student...

How could you not like BSG80 with those awesome flying motorcycles?

It can be two things! Let’s ask our friend Roger Corman...

It’s only the fact that you’re a Phil Esposito fan (I assume) that is stopping me from joining in the disparaging of you.

Since he wasn’t able to get those damn Watermelons out.

RIP to an all time great character actor. I always liked when he popped up in roles and of course he was a main Cassavetes guy.

It’s a great look at the horror (and supernatural and other) genres. And the book that provided me with my first glimpse of Harlan Ellison.

Love that book as well. I remember reading it in the early 80's as a kid and discovering a ton of great writers and films.

Says you: I could watch his breakdown at Sea World or whatever that place is called a hundred times.

That is a pretty great one, and a lot better than “I eat your skin” which was always on that double bill trailer.
