Canadian here. Um guys, just so you don’t worry that it’s you who’s going crazy or whatever, from the outside looking in this is the most surreal fucking shit we’ve ever seen. We are at once amused, distainful, embarrassed for you and deeply fearful about how this plays out.

There’s name for it, the validation he receives from his drooling crowds: narcissistic supply.

Because the only reason he holds the rallies is to hear people cheering for him. He doesn’t care about the politics, it’s just ego stroking, and they cheer for that shit, so he keeps repeating it. It means nothing. He’s a lab rat hitting the pleasure button, he doesn’t know how it works but it makes him feel good.

Ya know, I was thinking the same, and then I remembered that we just have little Siberias called prisons all over the country. Alaska is ruggedly beautiful, but that wears on you after a while, so living there as a minority is indeed a form of punishment--just ask the natives how they are treated. 

You could always reenact an episode of Frasier on the White House lawn.

You do not have to be civil to Nazis. The “alt right” are Nazis. Sympathizing with Nazis makes you a Nazi. Millions and millions of people died proving that and anything less than full throated resistance is a betrayal of their sacrifice.
