“We need to be clear that there is no thing as giving up one’s privilege to be ‘outside’ the system. One is always in the system. The only question is whether one is part of the system in a way which challenges or strengthens the status quo. Privilege is not something I take and which I therefore have the option of

He argued that it was consensual. That they essentially both had a drunken fling. The case hinged on whether she was, in fact, a willing participate who only claimed rape when she woke up and didn’t remember what she had done.

We hear a lot about “personal responsibility” when it comes to rape victims as well. Somehow, rapists never have a responsibility not to rape, but rape victims are always entirely responsible for avoiding getting themselves raped. And drunk rapists aren’t responsible for their actions because of the alcohol, but drunk

I believe she’s wearing it because the Every Town organization that is against gun violence is having a “wear orange” day for awareness. Luckily for me I bought one of their water bottles so I didn't actually have to wear orange.

I supported Bernie Sanders during the primary, but I am starting to turn towards Hillary. Trump makes George W. Bush look like a foreign policy expert. I liked Bernie’s ideas and I hope that Clinton adopts some, but I will stand with her as the next president of these United States. Whoa, that felt weird to write. But

Sure, if you ignore all of her accomplishments, she’s done nothing.

As you say, what he’s describing is objectification, not sexism. Also, he didn’t actually identify any double standards: he’s complaining that he’s being treated like a woman might be and ‘snot fair.

Look, I’m a supervisor in a manufacturing plant with a machine shop and I wear white jeans on the regular. Thanks to Jolie Kerr, I know about the power of Mrs. Stewart’s bluing and how to spot treat stains. The only time I avoid white pants/jeans is during shark week.

What does Sanders do for fun?

Another thing I think comes into play is that she is really no different from many Democrats that people like and respect when it comes to her flaws, yet she gets the most shit for those flaws.

If the reasons FOR disliking her were not so mired in sexist attitudes, it would be easier. It’s amazing to watch someone call her a frozen bitch and a slut in the same paragraph, in other words.

This seems to be a strawman, because even her fans would admit she’s flawed. This very story mentions that.

Yeah, agreed that controlled substances shouldn’t taste like candy. That is asking for trouble.

What’s a democarat? Does it have to do with diamond size?

I like your spirit. I also like the idea of having a shot in hell of a more liberal leaning judge being named to the SCOTUS. Ergo, fuck all that.

I’m fine with Bernie staying in the race to accumulate votes and show Democrats that there is broad, national support for a progressive agenda. I am not alright with him staying in the race in a desperate bid to win.

You won’t believe this, but Bernie Sanders won the state of Oregon last night. (Real fucking shocker there, I know.)

She’s at Cannes, encouraging more people who didn’t register properly to vote for Sanders.

Me watching this:

Aw, I love What’s Your Number? It’s become one of those movies I watch whenever I find it on cable, because it’s got such a charming cast, and actually has a good message. It’s definitely one of the best romantic comedies I can recall in quite some time.
