It did seem like you were being overly negative about a few new things last week, and I’m not surprised the internet got extra angry. The extent of their rage though... completely overboard, and really, the police ought to be having a word with these people.

I found the art style of Madworld very difficult to look at for an extended period of time (i.e. long enough to finish it). It’s one of the few games I actually wish was in 3D, to help me distinguish foreground / background more easily.

I bet it’s like “now animate this pen falling onto the floor tonight!”

Like all MMOs, it’s fun until you start to meet arses who yell at you for not watching videos on how to beat every boss before playing the game.

This guy is a legend, he knows everything. I met him at a retro convention in Wolverhampton before, but I get sick playing normal FPS games, so I wasn’t going to chance it. Still, I have to admire his dedication and expertise.

I think it is being used like “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, or “Tomb Raider”, where “raid” means “I found old stuff in a dangerous place”. XD

One thing I don’t think you understand - in the UK, although there are a few gaming museums, but really - if you want to spend a day playing a large number of genuine retro machines for the flat price of an entry fee, you go along and attend a retro gaming convention event.

I heard about this ship of arcade machines a few years ago from a specialist removals guy who works transporting arcade machines and pinball tables to and from retro gaming conventions.

Those ones were such a con! Your 2p just gets flipped to the top back row and never gets pushed down!

Backups save you from malware, but not from the OS treating your work as malware.

Thanks for this, I’ve copied your tips down for when I eventually get round to giving this game another go. :)

Go visit your little brother! Play some games with him!

I feel like I need to give 13-3 a fair shot. It’s the only Final Fantasy game I’ve quit because it was pissing me off. In fact, it’s just rare in general that happens, I’m usually happy to give all sorts of crap a shot.

Looks like it’s on Crunchyroll in the UK as well. :D

Installing an OS free on everyone’s machines still sounds classic supervillain to me. Next thing you know they’ll be draining everyone’s energy to feed a dormant evil being in another dimension*!

I dunno, if you fell asleep in 1992 and just woke up, this would be a normal video game commercial.

When I was a kid, we didn’t have such fancy things as a trampoline. We used to jump up and down on the bonnet of an abandoned car.

Yeah, it’s especially mainstreamers who come down hard on games billed as being like some other game they like, when it isn’t.

Interesting perspective.

Come on, it’s not like the modding community is anything grand and noble or the allowing of mods are a relinquishing of creator rights.
