I dunno, if you fell asleep in 1992 and just woke up, this would be a normal video game commercial.

When I was a kid, we didn’t have such fancy things as a trampoline. We used to jump up and down on the bonnet of an abandoned car.

Yeah, it’s especially mainstreamers who come down hard on games billed as being like some other game they like, when it isn’t.

Interesting perspective.

Come on, it’s not like the modding community is anything grand and noble or the allowing of mods are a relinquishing of creator rights.

Maybe the multicultual aspect is especially important to the devs, and they hate the idea of someone making it implied that in the future, either all other races have been exterminated or are otherwise not allowed into space.

I’ve seen someone handle a prototype Vita, just as a video on YouTube, not in real life, and the video was taken down so I guess I have no credibility here, but... it used SD cards. Just imagine that alternative reality!

Yeah, it lags for me too. I personally prefer mainly to actually play Vita games on my Vita. :) I actually think the PS Vita has a better game lineup at this point than PS4, but I think I’m in the minority. I just really like weird niche games and funny anime RPGs. :)

The Vita is also very good for playing Vita games, of which there are many. :)

It sounds bad, but... it wasn’t that special - if you knew someone with a CD burner you could make one yourself. :)

What’s wrong with recognising the sex appeal of moody boys? It was like, a really big thing, back in the day. In film, in TV, in anime, in books, everywhere. Especially if the guys were vampires or something otherwise dangerous!

Well, it’s the difference between exposure as in “I heard of that, it’s supposed to be alright” and exposure as in “I tried that, I decided for myself”. You know?

Wow, it’s like you come from an alternative universe! :)

Well, yeah. Expecting a college-age adult of today to have played an old Final Fantasy game is a bit like expecting someone of my era (30s) to be into Led Zeppelin as a young adult.

And they go “bwip”, “bwip”, “pling!” when you select something.

Yeah, but.... and this is not actually better, it’s just how it is.... FF13 already has two spin-offs, and all that investment you put into understanding the plot of the first FF13 is NOTHING when you get to the second or third game.

I think the English equivalent is “too many cooks spoil the broth”.

I think 401 people isn’t too small a number, I don’t know the admissions numbers for any Japanese universities, or how many students there are enrolling this year, but to me, it seems quite a lot.

Lots of women like Final Fantasy, because the games are full of fictional moody boys who are pretty enough to be girls. :) Also, they’re games containing stories about fantasy interpersonal relationships amidst epic scale saving the world.

“Because it doesn’t look fun.”- today’s college students were born right at the point Final Fantasy stopped being fun, and Square started thinking “we’re now way too expensive and important of a franchise to add frivolous things in our games like ‘fun’! Just make the graphics shinier! Pour in more money! And belts!”
