Answer: Have an ending
Good comment overall, although Dupieux is giving pretense a lot of bad press lately.
I love it when actors give real, honest responses. No BS, no fellating nonsense.
Coca cola classic.. Red, white and you
The author also used the word "ferocious" in the headline, which may mean something different than I thought.
HA, why is the angry miller link going to a 13 year old article about Variety?
Missed it by a day!
I agree - I was expecting to hear something a bit rawer and energetic based on this review. Instead it's all a bit on the drowsy side.
You are 100% spot on. The bass was so loud and swampy you lost all articulation of any other instrument, including voice. I saw it at Webster Hall, and I blamed WH at the time, as there were a slew of shows that year that had similar issues.
I'm glad for the recap - and the excellent job pointing out the episode's strengths, as the fucking terrible depiction of online activities was a huge distraction for me.
Between this show and CSI Cybercops, I still think network drama should avoid anything internet related altogether.
It was fucking TERRIBLE.

Really? That's surprising to me. "Light & Magic" was their peak for me - but that did coincide with a particularly awesome part of my life - whereas the albums afterwards? Soupy, messy, overproduced. Muddy.
Light and Magic was clean. When I saw them touring for their "Velociforo" tour, even their LIVE sound was muddy,…
I'd second your Man of Steel suggestion but it breaks my "shouldn't fall asleep while watching due to mind numbing boredom" rule.
Listing SkyFall without mentioning its glaring misogyny is troubling, to say the least. Yeah, Bond has always had a sexism streak, grandfathered in from its original era, but SkyFall took it to a almost soul-crushing extreme. The fact that it was presented without comment makes it all the more difficult to ignore.
"“Let’s Go,” [off of] 2012’s Lightning should have sounded alarm bells with its lack of engaging hooks. "
Agreed 100x
They are, and have always been, a physical manifestation of "obnoxious" as an archetype.
Plus what the hell - they look like 100% different people now.
I still remember the day I was at the movies and the first ever "UHF" trailer played before… I think it was Twins? Maybe Beetlejuice? All I know is that my eyes lit up and i started punching my friend in excitement once I realized I was witnessing an upcoming Yancovic movie - the idea was almost too much to behold.
I think it's odd that for his "RUN MIX" he chose the one Nine Inch Nails song that has an irregular meter (repetitions of 9 rather than 8), whcih to me would make it a weird song to run to.
The Slap Bass sound of that era was such a common keyboard patch, so distinctive of early 90s/late 80s wavetable synths, I always thought he started with it as a home demo, but the sound fit so perfectly that they never upgraded to a real instrument. The fact that it's a FAKE slap bass is what makes it WORK so well.…
This movie was great! Any poor review should really be erased from history, the Earth would be better off for it.
