I was wondering whether this story would get picked up by international media when I read a couple of days ago. However the way I remember it was that the father (apart from having generally a problem with the fact that his kid was born with boy parts but refused to act the part) suspected, that the child doesn't

The Brothers Grimm merely collected and wrote down stories that had been told for centuries all over the continent. Why does no one seem to be aware of that? They were philologists. Jacob Grimm basically founded German philology single-handedly.

More appropriate: What the fuck were the European people on, and where can I obtain it?

Wait, so in the American remake Aidan Turner's character is called Aidan? That's very...uhm...inventive.

There's a movie with Andrew Garfield and Michelle Dockery? Why did I not know that?

From today's perspective I'm with you, but back then marriage was very different. It was huge. People were actually meant to fulfill the "in good times and in bad times, in sickness and in health till death do us part" passage of their vows. Daisy is a simple girl. From her point of view lying about love and the

Jezebel, what's with all the Daisy hating? She is a young girl that was pressured into getting engaged and eventually married to a man she does not want or love.

See, that's the problem. The show is going for the "old stories from a different world" angle, which would work fine with the Grimms (after all they did collect old stories whose originated in a time when our world was very different), but is simply ridiculous with all the Disney references, because those movies are

"I am betting his name is Walter. As in Walt."

I was actually waiting for Emma to ask his name and him being all "You can just call me Grimm."

She never came across as a really mean person to me. There's the sibling rivalry with Edith, of course, where it is hard to say which sister started it. It might go back to their early childhood. Lord and Lady Grantham seem to be party responsible for it as well. To them Mary is (at least at the beginning of series 1)

You should rather blame Julian Fellowes for writing Matthew that way. I've seen Dan Stevens in other films (most recently 'Hilde') where he does not come across as a Hugh Grant-copy.

Completely offtopic, but can I just say that I love your user name? And now I'm hungry.

I refuse to believe that a crack through this godforsaken little rock called Earth can undo what Rose did to Jack while having the power of the entire time vortex at her hands. He's a fixed point in time and space, not some guy with magical blood that heals every wound.

In German 'gender' translates to either Geschlecht or Genus, both of which are neuters.

Actually that's not strange. Mädchen is actually a diminutive derived from Magd. Any derivation with the suffix -chen is a neuter, regardless of the original gender.

In my mother tongue both computer and laptop are masculina, which is probably why it never even occurred to me to give them female names. My sister and a close friend however had "female" laptops, so maybe the grammatical gender isn't such a big factor.

"No explanation, though, of how they would deal with the "Donna can't know about the Doctor or her brain will explode" issue."
