One star in Kinja, all the stars in my heart.
It’s funny because the premise isn’t really bonkers at all. It’s just the aesthetics of the setting. But ultimately it’s just “Two reasonably honest cops fight their way out of a bad spot trying to hold onto a macguffin (a bag of money, a bag of drugs, a critical witness) with (bad cops, gangs, the mob) on their tail.”
Fantasy Alien Nation
Actually, given the incredibly low number of dangerous animal attacks in the lower 48, carrying a gun when hiking is mostly pointless. I’m not anti gun, my family owns quite a few, I’ve shot them for fun, etc, but gun advocates tend to wildly overestimate the need for the things for self defense outside of a few niche…
It’s good enough to renew for a second season, and good enough to be used as an anchor for the platform CBS sees as the future as network TV goes away.
The MCU alters canon constantly, to a degree that would make the Discovery haters heads explode if they were consistent about it.
“I don’t hate this show”
I pretty much disagree with tone of this review completely. Trek shows have always mostly concentrated on a small core of characters, which is what made Lower Decks notable at the time. Dinging DSC for this 6 episodes in feels unfair. And the core characters feel more fun and human in this ep than any other, having…
Starfleet is all “Hey, an alien probe brainwashed you into thinking you were another person, and for what you perceived as decades, you abandoned you identity, your crew, your ship, etc., but hey, take back your captain’s seat right away, no problem.”
One of my eternal nerd pet peeves is that the lack of serialization makes The Inner Light pointless bullshit.
I think a nation could look at the history of Africa and come to the conclusion that the single ethical thing to do is not try to meddle in other countries affairs, even if well meaning. This article indicates BP saved some UN Peacekeepers outside of Wakanda, so maybe they intervene a bit here and there.
I think it’s a little weird and unfair to ask trans people as a vehicle for some other political agenda unless they choose to take that on themselves. The deconstruction of this society’s conception of femininity is important, IMO, but maybe this woman just wants to get her modeling career on? It’s not actually her…
Is he not alone in not actually reading/comprehending the article, which actually defends the guy?
Oh, lots of people still hate that film. Also, a weird number of people claim the movie depicts a lesbian “converted” by a man, which makes me wonder if they actually watched the movie.
He had a moment, when he was kind of Hollywood’s emergency backup Johnny Depp, when he was kind of an it-guy.
The problem with “I don’t remember that” is it’s a tactic a lot of the worst abusers use to gaslight their victims and make them doubt themselves, especially followed up, like Cross did, with “Hey, maybe we both misremembered? Maybe it didn’t happen like that?” Maybe Cross legit doesn’t remember, but it’s a phrase…
I’d simply argue that in wartime, a ship captain absolutely has the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner.

You asked for “Most Electrifying”?
There was much, much more CG in Fury Road than people think. I really wish people would stop using it as their “Practical Effects vs CG” champion.
