but to make them actually safer and better than us meatbags driving cars, it’s necessary.

There are a number of people whom would consider #1 a feature, and may even pay extra for.
Yeah something like that would definitely be necessary. Though I still think private vehicle, even private autonomous vehicle, ownership is going to be something for a while.
Per the article, “On highways, the speed limit doesn’t have a direct effect on the Autopilot’s speed. The speed is still limited by the Autopilot’s overall 90 mph speed limit.” The Autopilot has a top limit of 90mph no matter what road you’re on.
Nobody cares if they own the latest greatest refrigerator or washing machine. I see cars headed the same direction
1. A car that limits its speed to the posted speed without offering any compensation will not sell. This is part of the reason you don’t see posted speed limit limiters today even though the technology is there. Limiting the car’s speed AND letting me take a nap or read a book or whatever will sell.
Autonomous vehicles make the most sense in the long run if private car ownership is abolished.
I think 200 touring was more concerned with the Tesla driving slow and getting hit from behind by human drivers not paying attention to slow moving traffic.
they’d likely all communicate with each other via some sort of localized wireless communication (wifi, Bluetooth, etc)
Given the apparent age of the driver, distracted driving being a primary contributor would not surprise me. People of all ages do stupid shit.
GIF is also an acronym, Graphics Interchange Format. The acronym should still only be pronounced gif and not jif.
I took a still of my at home trial...
And don’t touch or flirt with other people in the car.
Dude,
The phone usage point is very good. I definitely was working out the steps to answer the questions highlighted in the article but was framing my effort based on my work computer’s Microsoft Outlook. Answering those same questions but only from a phone would be very different and potentially a lot harder.
I often think about what technology is going to come around that I’m going to say F it I’m too old to learn it.
That makes sense.
The bar for Japan is the most interesting to me. They have the greatest percentage of “can’t use” by a fair bit, but off set it by having the fewest below level 1 users. It seems to speak to a mentality of learn it right or don’t waste time. They also seem to have the highest percentage of level 3 users but that’s…
TBA is clearly the cashing agency for the Clinton Foundation. How else do you think Bill gets his floozy money?
Don’t know if it’ll help anyone, but I play out action sequences in my mind while running. Listening to action movie type music helps add to the illusion and pulls me away from my own lagging body.
