To clarify, it's a 7-sp dual clutch automated manual.

That car runs a pretty high risk of getting T-boned

I frequently mind the speed limits everywhere I go, mainly because I'd rather be in my car than wherever it is I have to be, because I'm not going there by choice.

Engine covers are part of the overall NVM package. They are there to reduce the unpleasant noises engines make (valve noise, belt sounds, etc)

Still I4 in the US, they're just looked down upon.

Well, it looks fantastic, and sounds like a good track-pack (handling, cooling, reliability, not a peaky mega turbo add on) but honestly, I just don't care.

This story did not go the way I expected when I began reading. Personally, I think you've gone one iteration too far.

I've test-driven a Fit, and I agree. The numbers belie the lack of off-the-line pop.

While I agree the Fit could use a new engine, and the Fiesta is a reasonable cross-shop, where you really comparing a $24,700 Golf with a $15,200 Fit? That 62% bump in MSRP gives you quite a range.

Another options that's less burn-y is to stuff them in an old pair of nylons, tie it off, and throw them in the washing machine. You get a bag of indistinguishable paper pulp. Even these guys couldn't reconstruct that.

I would counter that most of those are are only semi-manuals, as many include an automatic mode, and are therefore, some times manual, some times automatic.

Auto transmissions do not require a stick. Manuals do. Don't call an entire nation of people "retarded" before extracting your head from your ass.

After a miserable domestic flight in 2005, I decided if I can get there by car, I will. When I fly, I always have to leave behind things I would otherwise never sacrifice, and deal with the indignities of TSA. So I've decided to prioritize my personal freedoms, and drive every where I can. I've driven up to 1200

1st Gear : A lobby that looks like a shield....yes, because no other sports luxury car company has a logo that looks anything like a shield. **cough** Ferrari **cough** Lamborghini

The 135hp probably would have come in around $25k. This 'track ready' business means closer to $30k, most likely

I've been part of hiring teams foe engineers 2 different times. I was previously part of an interview team consisting of 8 engineers. Now I'm a manager.

Yeah yeah. They call Chicago the windy city, but Burlington has more wind. Less city, obviously....
