That is categorically untrue.
That is categorically untrue.
That argument is usually nullified by the fact that you use the mouse for direction, and not the keyboard. It's full 360 movement at that point.
I have never played enough CS to go through that period you've described, but whatever happened, it clearly wasn't bad enough to even put a dent in the CS playerbase numbers, at least according to Steam's stats where the game is almost consistently the most played everyday.
I find it quite odd how largely our experiences in this matter seem to differ. Not in all the long years that I've been gaming online on PC have I had the experiences you've described. Sure, I've met my fair share of cheaters in various games, but those were usually promptly banned from whatever server they were on,…
Many of the points you raise here are valid, but only insofar as to say that the PC is an easier platform to cheat on. Nothing more, nothing less. There are a few points on there I still don't agree with, such as not being able to ban a PC from a game. That's a moot point, when most MP games now are attached to…
My grandfather had Parkinson's. Know it all too well, unfortunately.
I don't know... CoD4 is still alive and kicking on PC. Same with CS 1.6 and CSS. Same with UT2k4 and UT99. Same with CoD2 and the original BF. I believe even Quake 3 still has servers running with people playing regularly.
I guess you have a point there. Microsoft isn't exactly known for their leniency with Live.
Do you have any actual insight into how much money and/or manpower goes into cheat prevention on a platform by platform basis, or are you just making assumptions? Because if it's not the latter, I'd love to see some solid info on that.
No. It's probably just because last I head of this guy was when he was diagnosed with something, and then never really saw him again. It didn't help when this game hired an imitator to voice McFly, either.
Maybe the held out hope for something to change, who knows? But it has to be as disappointing as it was when Space Marine was first announced to be a console exclusive (which then later changed after the Relic PC fans protested).
You know how each one of those two can easily be confused for the other. :P
I was specifically referring to the part where you said it was supposed to be a console shooter. At this point, most shooters are more or less "console shooters", aren't they? So how is that a reason for it not to be on PC?
What? That's a load of bull if I've ever seen/heard any. Every online game on PC is doing fine handling cheaters and banning them (most especially MMOs, including EVE Online).
Does that mean anything anymore? A shooter is a shooter is a shooter.
Wait, he's alive?
Didn't read the article. Don't need to. Just give me my Metro game already! (Preferably without those damn stealth sequences!)
Same here.
I absolutely agree with this. I have had enough with the LoL community as of late, that game has become worse than the original DotA. It wasn't nowhere near as bad as it is now a year ago, but I suppose being free and becoming a lot more popular does this to a game.
You're right.
