I don't see the point in arguing about the definition of dumbing down as that will probably mean several different things for different people, but I would like to point out that a "change in style" and "dumbing down" are not mutually exclusive like you seem to suggest. A change of style can and (in the game industry)…

I don't know that I care when the original game was just $10. As long as this isn't more expensive, they can't go wrong with the pricing.

@Kovitlac: Have you played any of the Crysis games before? If not, then it makes sense that you wouldn't call it dumbed down. The whole game has changed to cater for the CoD and Halo masses instead of sticking to its own thing. That's more than just 'a few other reasons'.
