I bought a used Frontier recently. Had a Toyota pickup in the past too. The Frontier is surprisingly well-built, it has a VQ-based V6 w/3 pedals, and it makes an amusing noise as it comes on cam. I’ve crawled around underneath it a bit to see how it’s put together and it’s decent. Strong frame rails, good

FWIW (and perhaps to nobody’s surprise) the Xterra and Frontiers are very similar. I recently picked up a Frontier crew cab 4x4 6MT (2013) but considered the X as well. In the end, pickup bed trumped small-ish enclosed cargo space/SUV-ishness. As far as I could tell the rear seat accommodations in both are fairly

I think you’re missing the point. The whole issue with TG, and the reason why we grumbled it was getting a bit long in the tooth, was that they were running up against the limits of what the BBC (and Ofcom) could or would permit. Absent that restriction, the format (and the trajectory on which it was otherwise

Ford needs to sell a licensing scheme to trailer manufacturers who then equip all new trailers with a magic barcode the truck can automatically decipher for at least most of those measurements. Then the trailer guys can claim their trailers are Ford-certified and charge another $250 at the retail point of sale.

Nein! You need this instead, it’s a fine horseradish, and apt for the VAG ownership:

Those are good points even beyond what I was thinking. As Brits, TG could go places (think the Middle East special, for example) where clearly Americans couldn’t. AFAIK the access TGT might have to locations would only ever be a subset of whatever the BBC could manage.

In the past, TG had access to certain things because it was BBC/”British”. Does TGT get perceived as “American” and therefore have less/different access to locations, subject matter, or even actual manufacturers?

Ice sea what you did there.

There’s been a surge of interest.

It’s a pier to pier event.

That’s just swell.

Mad props.

This is a very true statement. As a former owner of various flavours of Miata, and the attached E86 3.0si, I have many more regrets about selling the BMW than the Miatas. Looking at the pic makes me miss it all over again.

Bodily harm = eardrum damage. Can cause permanent harm. BTDT.

Yeah I get that but the important metric is the rate of heat extraction under load. An air:water intercooler requires a lot of capacity to shed waste energy if you want to sustain a meaningful temperature delta across the coil. No doubt it can be done, but much depends on the details, capacities, surface area,

I think you’d be better off plumbing the intake to the cowl area at the base of the windshield, since that’s also where HVAC gets its fresh air feed. You might not have the full sonorous glory, but nor would you risk bodily harm or the most negative Spousal Approval Factor ever recorded.

If the cabin was sealed (windows up, sunroof closed) the pressure changes would wreak havoc on your eardrums. Taken further, you’d probably choke the engine and it would run poorly or stall.

Toyota reg cab 4x4 w/22RE & 5-speed is Best Small Truck. Had one. Miss it frequently. Discovered the bench could be replaced with buckets from an equivalent-year (1990, in my case) 4Runner as the floor stampings were the same. Got pulled over in far northern California once, had a nice chat with the trooper about how

Nice. I had to do a compressor service on my LR3. Primary failure mode on that one was the dryer assembly’s desiccant losing its mojo. The fix was to replace it, but while you’re in there, also to replace various seals, glide ring, and other sundry bits. Some nice folks on eBay sold a rebuild kit for ~$100 and
