“Sunday Clothes” would have been an excellent choice to perform at the Tonys and the staging relatively easy to re-create compared to re-creating the stage for Comet that was done. “Sunday Clothes” would have given a great presentation of what this type of show is supposed to be about.

That number was bad in the show on stage. Why they thought it was good idea to broadcast to millions is beyond me.

That song by David Hyde Pierce was cringeworthy in the show and worse on national television.

Interesting, I didn’t know that. After the show I remember commenting to the friend I saw about how much stamina the typical show schedule would take at her age.

Radio City accommodated the stage for Comet quite nicely and that was more elaborate and more complicated than the setting for Dolly, at least  from my seats for both shows. The Shubert is no bigger than the Imperial theater and the stage at the Imperial was rebuilt and expanded for the immersive aspects of Comet.…

My guess: She’s too old to do the 3:00 matinee on Sunday then the tonys then only have one day to rest before Tuesday’s show.
