You wouldn’t believe how hard the emissions standards are to pass, particularly at a low price point. Until you try to do it yourself you simply can’t understand how hard it is.

I do think “cheating” on mpg/emissions probably needs qualifiers post dieselgate. When VW’s defeat devices weren’t in use, some of the cars were emitting almost 40 fucking times the allowable limit of NOx. Much different than fudging half a mpg.
These “dipshits” are also the ones who kept groceries and supplies on the shelf while you were sitting at home WFH’ing in your jammies.
Science fiction movies have ruined us.
While I agree, I don’t think this is specific to Jalopnik. Competitive advantage of negativity in the marketplace of attention is too large to ignore.

Oh so protesting is a crime now? Are you only allowed to protest when the government says it’s okay?
Once this is determined in a court of law, I agree with you. Before that point, it’s wrong.
And see here I thought full-conspiracy Bradford would have been all in on an opportunity to attribute malice when it may not have been present.
Dude just take the L.
I’d still take our “old” 2019 Range Rover over any other luxury SUV on the market...
FOMO is a helluva fucking drug.
But hey, if people want to drop $100k+ on something that’ll look as dated as an H2 in 10 years, more power to them!
They understand. They just don’t care. They will only own it during the warranty period and will receive an identical loaner car when it goes to the shop, and have other cars to drive anyways.
