I enjoy Duncanville a lot. Unfortunately, it looks like it’s sharing the timeslot with Bless the Harts (which I didn’t care for) at least next season.

But how great is this show that you instantly COULD imagine Gayle in a mesh bikini?

This was the vintage episode this weekend, and I noticed something in the goodnights. Usually, the cast either all stands near the host, or all stands at the back (as a signal they didn’t like the host). Everyone was standing in the back except Chris Redd and Leslie Jones. Dysfunction during the week?

This was the vintage episode over the weekend, and the accents were the most noticeable thing: why did each character need a different accent? Is that the only way he could remember which sketch was which?

Didn’t really get the Dratch hate either; I imagine someone was throwing her a bone. The woman hasn’t worked a lot other than voice-over stuff for awhile now.

Cecily wrote an essay for Vulture about how her cousin recently passed away and her boyfriend has coronavirus. Seems like she’s in a really bad place, so I don’t know if I’d expect much from her again this week.

I didn’t see a single joke about Lauren Lapkus’ appearance in the trailer. At no point do any of the characters even imply that she’s unattractive. They all think she’s insane.

Margaret was in 14 episodes of Modern Family! Who knew? Also, the actress who played her died!

So was Teddy actually having a kid or not? The way it left things, either he is and he’s willing to drop his wife at a moment’s notice to get with Amy, or it was all an elaborate ruse.

Guess we didn’t get that season finale review...

And who the hell is Boots?

Dude looked like Jared Kushner here. Wonder if that was on purpose...

Here’s something I don’t get: Phil grew up in Florida, as this episode mentions. So how did he end up going to a small public college in California (which I think is supposed to be Fresno State, IIRC)? Why not just have the character also be from California?

Amazing how similar Ed Begley, Jr’s characters are in this and Bless this Mess. Or maybe he’s just coasting in his later career. One of those.

Is he, though?

It’s been pretty abysmal for 4 or 5 years now (and mediocre for 2-3 seasons before that), but the ratings and the syndication money helped it limp along.

OF COURSE Manny is the type of guy who wears a black t-shirt in the hot tub.

Luke is into 40-something women, but is willing to have sex with men if the opportunity presents itself. That’s a character development you couldn’t have predicted in season... say, 6.

Catching up from the quarantine-times: what the hell was up with Ariel Winter’s hairline in this episode? She had a fuzzy black line on her forehead in every scene.

Catching up on these from the quarantine times, and I find it interesting that they’re really leaning into “Alex has terrible taste in men” in this final season. Goes along with their decision to abruptly sexualize the character in... season 9? Jimmy Tatro is funny, but his character wouldn’t make a good long-term
