Based on the headline, I’m assuming Helen Keller has descendants, and they’re quite upset!

It’s so, so awful the last couple of years. She doesn’t want to be there, he doesn’t want to be there, I can only assume she was playing out her contract. I have never seen a show that seemed less like an actual show and more like watching someone else’s security-cam feed.

There’s an AV Club office in New York now?

Just saw it yesterday, and I didn’t think the effects looked as bad as I’d been led to believe. In 3D, there were a few scenes where it was obviously a few props on a soundstage, with 25-foot+-high green screens on all sides, but that was about it. I read afterwards that they filmed in Turkey before moving to the

OK, but the last time I was excited for an all-female comedy with a TV breakout, a movie star, and an SNL star, it was Rough Night, and that didn’t turn out so well.

If they couldn’t get the title changed, Subway should have just leaned in on it. Why not Subway Presents: Jared from Subway: Catching a Monster”?

Was Funny Girl career-altering for Beanie Feldstein, or just a blip? It was certainly set up to be a HUGE DEAL in the national media, and then when she failed at it, everyone noticed. She’s in Ethan Coen’s next movie, but that was probably shot before Funny Girl, and doesn’t seem to have much else booked.

Not bothering to look for flattering pictures of Lea Michele anymore, I see.

For real, though, isn’t it weird that if you think about all of the TRL pop stars of 20 years ago, the only two that don’t make you a little sad today are P!nk and Mandy Moore?

Pink’s been ahead in the “early-’00s female pop stars” race for years, but to me, her drop the mic moment was performing “Barracuda” with Nancy Wilson at the Taylor Hawkins tribute. Her career’s gone better than Xtina, and her voice is better than Xtina, too.

The Goldbergs: still with 2/3rds of their original cast!

I know the judges have to maintain the illusion that literally anyone could be under that mask, but people: MARTIN SHORT IS NOT GOING TO BE ON THIS SHOW. TINA TURNER IS NOT GOING TO BE ON THIS SHOW. Take who you think it is, imagine “who’s the B-list version of this person?” and chances are, that’s who it is.

I completely agree, they know how to create a great show. My point is, they sold out the entire tour BEFORE they started the process of creating the great show. And were open about it. And the tour starts in two months.

And the day after this article was published, rumors appeared that Shang-Chi 2 will feature a whole lotta Kangs.

I actually think there’s a workable middle ground here. What people seem to want is what we got in Phases 2 and 3: standalone stories with little Easter eggs that set things up for later, and then the overarching plot moves toward an Avengers movie in the post-credits scenes. If that’s what you really want, those

Call me a curmudgeon, but I didn’t think Lightyear or Turning Red or Luca or Onward (or Soul, for that matter, though it wasn’t mentioned in that article) were any good in comparison to Pixar’s golden age.

Isn’t this the exact plot of American Auto?

I realize this is completely sarcastic, but neither of them have any stand-up experience, and both have said in interviews over the last few days that they haven’t even begun to work out what they’re actually going to DO in these live shows.

As witnessed by the one comment on this article over three days...

That Tina and Amy tour looks amazingly half-assed. I realize it works for Martin Short and Steve Martin to show up in a town and do some messarounds on stage for a couple of hours, but they’re both experienced stand-up / Broadway performers.
