Now that this era of SNL is over, I think it’ll be seen as similar to the early ‘00s - some great cast members, some really funny all-time sketches, but it didn’t often hit the heights of other eras. Kate, Aidy, Pete, and Kyle all stayed on too long (and if Cecily is returning, she’s stayed on way too long).

B Positive. It just got cancelled, too. They completely changed the premise in Season 2, made it about the female lead who inherits a ton of money and buys an old folks’ home.

I like Natasha Lyonne, but that’s a fairly underwhelming season finale. That’s more of a mid-March lineup. Given that they didn’t announce all three May hosts at once, and they waited until 8 days before the episode to announce Lyonne, I’ve got to think somebody big-name fell through.

Are all film comedies now headed straight to streaming? This seems like one they’d try in theaters, but I guess not.

Great, but it would have to be the comedy of the decade for me to pay for Peacock.

Giving the show the title Mrs. American Pie is idiotic. Every review, news story, etc. will have to mention there’s no relation to the teen sex comedies. Most interviews will ask about the teen sex comedies. The average viewer will assume that Janney is playing an updated version of Stifler’s Mom and either not watch

I was watching the documentary about the Freddie Mercury Tribute a couple of weeks ago, and decided they should do a Taylor Hawkins Tribute, with the Foo Fighters cycling through a series of superstar drummers: Chad Smith, Ringo, Alex Van Halen, Spencer Copeland, Matt Cameron, Jimmy Chamberlin, Roger Taylor, Tre Cool,

Well, this is going straight to streaming / VOD.

Last time Lorne talked about it (when he got the Kennedy Center honor), he said he wanted the show to continue, and that he’d thought about how that would work, but didn’t go into specifics.

I understand the motivation behind the current Blue Beetle project, but man, it would have been cool to see a light action buddy comedy with Ted Kord and Booster Gold.

They sold tons of copies by late ‘00s standards... doing some light Googling, it looks like those three sold albums sold somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million copies worldwide, total. Which is great, but similarly-selling bands from that era like Dashboard Confessional are touring in whatever venue will have them

Strangely enough, That 80s show was set in San Diego, so they’d have to come up with a reason why these people are now in Wisconsin.

I slacked off and never watched this season... did they ever explain where Bruce Wayne had gone? Or what he thought about a rando operating out of his building?

So did these guys just invest their ‘00s money wisely, or are they getting so much $$ for these shows that they only have to do nine dates? I’m fascinated by the economics of cult bands.

The persistent rumor is that Lorne feels like he’s too old to retool the cast, and he’s trying to hang on until season 50 in ‘24-’25. So he gives his current cast members time off, and he makes the cast really big. Then either the show ends (unlikely), or they hand it off to someone who will completely clean house and

It would have been better if Kyle hadn’t been doing meta-sketches for years that are less funny this Chloe’s sketch.

Yeah, but there are ways in. You could walk with a group, you could have a badge that looks pretty close to the one they’re using. At conventions I’ve been to, they only really check badges for entry to the exhibit hall, because there are lots of free samples and sometimes food and drink. If you’re dressed well and

Lorne is too old to retool the cast, so he’s letting this bunch go part-time until Season 50, when (presumably) he will retire.

This is nice and all, but how many comedy projects could Molly Shannon be developing in the next calendar year?

That dude on the left doesn’t have the face for that hairstyle anymore. He looks like Iggy Pop circa 1995.
