Yes, I’ve been using Google Voice to send and receive SMS from my phone and laptop for many years. Google Voice even lets you send and receive SMS by email. I agree that pushing out different messaging apps with different feature sets is really confusing users (and bloggers like the author of this article).

I really don’t get the complaints about the multiplayer. You create a lobby or join one, invite friends and post a quest. They join said quest and you’re off. It’s not complicated.

To add on to this, in Monster Hunter World, you can also take actions to boost your chances of getting the specific material you want. There is information, in game(!) in the Hunter Notes, about if certain materials are drops in general, or ‘Carves’, and if breaking a certain part of the monster enable a certain part…

Longtime MMORPG player here. I’ve always made a distinction between grinding and farming.

Destiny was my first MMO-style grind game, however, so diving into a crafting-based loot game has been eye-opening.

The key difference here is Capcom has refined MH over the years and created the ultimate version of it, as a game to be played by new and old players for possibly years to come. Destiny is a platform to sell microtransactions and expansion passes to make as much money as humanly possible in the shortest amount of time.
