I would venture to guess that most people online use a few "web 2.0" services, but most don't need aggregation technologies the same way geeks do.
One more vote for TextPad. I love the search and replace features and the flexibility, syntax highlighting, regexp support, file comparison functionality, etc.
AlertThingy is awesome—really making FriendFeed useful/usable. One kink so far that I've experienced is that if a new FriendFeed notification comes in while you're commenting you lose the comment.
I've been doing this for years—putting all my membership numbers in Outlook Notes and then sync'ing with my PDA phone.

I think there's a tipping point at which it becomes cumbersome or just unnecessary to have additional space (the third or fourth monitor, or the second 40" display)...but it's not a point that most people will ever reach. Sort of like how most people would prefer having their own bedroom, a living room, a kitchen,…
