As an IT technician, I have seen this exact scenario many times. I have spent hours trying to "clean" one of the PCs up and it didnt work. Our IP monitoring company still reported malicious activity coming from the PC. Now we just give them a new PC right away and reformat theirs. Its much faster than trying to clean…
@wkm001: i TOTALLY agree. good pointers.
hulu and netflix for sure. Pandora integration, tivo-like abilities, maybe even capabilities for bluetooth keyboard- for typing (say I wanna surf the internet while i'm on). and can we have multiple audio/video ports, both semi-legacy and multiple standard ones?
Data Backup 3 with Time Capsule
this doesnt work in Snow Leopard. Anyone have THAT procedure?
sweet. this will be much easier than any alternatives. thank you.
@leaderbuilder: thanks for the link.
wow thank you. It was so easy to access my time capsule on windows using a UNC path and/or mapping the drive but I couldnt figure out how to access my windows folders from the mac. and thank you for the tip about adding the folders to my login items- i would have missed that.
macheists bundle is pretty nice. I was ultra impressed that they've included Rapidweaver. But still, I like lifehackers bundle better, esp Cyberduck. I use it all the time and i love it.
thats a step in the right direction. I hate facebook "email"- being able to read a facebook message in gmail but having to go to facebook to reply... simply the dumbest thing.
i deploy multiple machines new and reformatted at my workplace and have been looking for a way to image them for faster deployment. reformatting/restoring a Pentium 4 PC is killer and trying to keep up with replacements is never ending. I've looked at a handful of commercial softwares like WISE, altiris, and acronis,…
any find a solution for displaying a webpage as a background for Windows 7, like Xp's Active Desktop. And please dont suggest Aves utility.
clever
@Prairie Moon: ha well its an icon for the VNC connection into windows 7 media box (which I want netflix on). you can read about it on my website.
yes this is a must try.
good to know. thanks.
great list but sucks if you only have one carrier (VW) in your area.
pretty cool, but I really dont like to manage my files/folders on the desktop. i have 1 icon on my desktop currently. i guess i'm simple like that.
tried it for like 2 seconds and didnt like it. the circle was weird and it didnt handle the icons very well. just seems clumsy.
