I disagree that any negative effects can be completely erased. Addictions (whether to drugs or porn) are psychologically damaging. You don’t have a talk with your kids about drugs so that they will use them responsibly. You talk to them about drugs with the hope that they will not use them.

But I think it’s fair, particularly in this case, to consider the effect on children. They’re more vulnerable and impressionable and porn is highly addictive and very easily accessed.

As a Tech (football..don’t really care for NCAAB) fan, this game caught my eye. Hope it’s a good one.

I’m all for more mid-majors. I think the difference in quality between them and major conference teams is overstated

Sarcasm or fail?

I’m tempted to call this semantics. Sure, black markets are illegal and thus less regulated than porn. But there’s correlation here, no?

Yeah protecting the people from themselves is a pretty conservative idea though, so good luck getting people here to buy in

I think the gun analogy is a good one. Both can be harmful to those who don’t even consume it

I just think it’s really unrealistic. For one, people generally don’t give a shit about sex workers. For another, drug use/abuse is pretty common for the performers from what I understand. And from the producers’ perspective, I bet this is more a feature than a bug.

I’m actually the opposite. I trust the Raptors way more, since they’re so stacked and I’ve come to expect my favorite player, CP, to bomb out of the playoffs

I listened to that too. It was harrowing. I was surprised by how many boys said they had only seen porn accidentally. It also makes complete sense that this would truly fuck up a child’s perception of what sex is and should be. It certainly had an effect on mine as well.

Also not a good idea: making poor ethnic women have an Easter egg hunt for money

You can say the culture needs to change, but why would it? It’s a highly addictive product with an industry that isn’t highly regulated. I think that’s like saying there’s no reason the black market for drugs doesn’t need to be abusive. Good luck changing that.

I think they like to be called sexperts

Maybe the whole industry should just be bombed and abandoned. I know we love our freedom here in America, but this reminds me of that episode of It’s Always Sunny. “I think we gave people too much freedom!”

If you search hard enough you’ll be able to find a video of her vomiting up apples

I recently got into the S&M scene; what I didn’t know was that if you’re a beginner, you have to be the masochist. What a gyp that turned out to be.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that “retard” won’t be generally taken as offensive in the near future, given that “mental retardation” has itself fallen out of use. I imagine it will be similar to how words like “moron” (and “idiot?” I know there’s another common one) are not just inoffensive but not even vulgar

What’s wrong with “retards?”

When I first saw the Eleven girl on a talk show (before I’d ever seen the show itself) I thought: no way a girl her age should have that kind of charisma. Now of course all the kids have blown up, and pretty much the same thing goes for all the kids. It’s a shame the kind of childhood they all will lead.
