Emmys 2016
I'm truly thankful for this unique piece of art. And this is what you call a DRAMA. Some other shows out there should take notes. Hopefully, this show will be acknowledged in the awards season.
Eager to know if there will be an answer to the question whether the three girls actually departed, died or ran away, other than Patty's statement in ep4. Taking a closer look back at the very first episode, there are some peculiar scenes between the girls as well as of Evie that indicate the latter (the montage of…
If it is any consolation, it is hard for me as well to get over the fact (nomoreselfie). The chemistry between Cho and Gillan and their characters was a uniqueness. I doubt that I will get to see something like that ever again on screen. Actually I don't wanna see "something" like that…. I wanna see EXACTLY them and…
Annie. It's like recovering from a bad breakup. Over time we shall accept and move on ;)
Great read! Thanks for the link! It's been over a week now since the last episode came out, but when I think about some moments from the show I am surprised how I am still not over the cancellation.
On an extra note, regarding Freddy and Eliza, it is interesting that she always refers to him as her "super hot boyfriend" (several times in episode 13 alone). It seems as if that is the main quality she sees in Freddy. And taking into consideration how much she's grown, that is still a pretty superficial mindset.…
Have you read the review on "TVoverMind".
In my opinion, it pretty much captures the essence of the episode and of the show in general.

I understand where your statements are coming from. A romantic Asian lead as well as an overall diverse cast was indeed refreshing to see. Selfie is out there and the industry can take a good look at John Cho's brilliant performance. He certainly proved that he can be a true romantic lead and owned that role. So maybe…
Completely agreed!
Overall, I think the main plot-point of Selfie was not about love between Henry and Eliza. The 13 episodes were about growing as a person and helping people to find themselves. In a way, it is a good thing that Henry and Eliza didn't get together in episode 13, leaving it open-ended.
Eliza has grown as a person and…
But why would you argue that he might have blown his chances with her (in theory)? It's not like Freddy and Eliza are married. They are "just" dating and I haven't heard her say that she loves him (yet). I also can't see Henry actively pursuing Eliza while she's in a relationship with someone else. That is not him.…
I gave you a lot of room to argue because my statements weren't clear at times. My apologies. I am definitely rooting for art to be as realistic as possible. But why is it so bad to root for Eliza and Henry to get together. I have my reasons which are based on character analysis, not solely on emotions. It seems like…
Interesting! Henry could have gone home after rejecting Eliza and, as later revealed, Julia. Why not go home? Instead, he went back to the party without knowing if Eliza has left or not. So, intentionally, I assume he was coming back to find her and then was depressed after finding out that she has left, following…
I think Saperstein was rather a mentor/father-figure to Henry.
I agree with you completely on this one, except I find it a bit of a stretch to assume that he might mean someone else…. His conversation with the kids and the reminiscing is explicitly about Eliza. Then jumping to another person (similar to Eliza) who might be out there for him seems dubious
Yes, I'm definitely led by emotions when hoping for a positive outcome for Henry, specifically with Eliza because of the known reasons. As you said, life does not work that way, but this is not life, it's fiction. And I turn to movies and TV shows in my leisure time to get away from brutal reality for some time.
This thought from another forum is pretty interesting (parallel to Shaw's Pygmalion):
Words and their connotations! A lot of people disliked the title, but never have I heard a logical reason for that. Granted, it is "ungoogleable" when you want to search for it on the internet. But a simple addition of key words like "ABC" or "Gillan and Cho" would've done the trick.
I myself didn't have any reaction…
I am implying no such thing, SunnyD :) Only you know how you feel and it is great that you see Henry in the light of being a role model who is single and happy (by your judgement at least). Other people might say that Henry is actually not that happy. But then again, what is happiness? What is love? Without turning…
