Just two general questions: why did he try to pull the tire off while there still was a nut on, which from the looks of it made the car move off the jack? And why did he try picking the car up by the grill/front bumper?

Having a history of inconsistent periods is probably the main reason. She could have been a larger woman and didn’t notice the weight gain or didn’t put on that much weight. Also probably didn’t have morning sickness, or maybe only long enough for her to think it was just the flu.

I’d say that sounds about right.
