Accepting a sponsorship from Coinbase and wearing their logo in the most prominent place on your uniform is one of the clearest ways to demonstrate that you only care about yourself. So I can’t say I’m surprised he made the decisions he did.

I’m sorry but I’m sick of this type statement. Covid killed my Dad as well as many others. Please stop hating on the basic ways to stop spreading it just because you hate wearing masks and are over it. People are still dying my friend.

Even if COVID-19 never existed, if I “woke up vomiting blood” I wouldn’t be doing anything that day other than going to the ER.

Big “some of us may die, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make” energy in the comments.

The difference is when you lose access to your physical games it’s typically because you lost them, not because a faceless corporation decided to on a whim. While there are other factors like hardware obsolescence that add challenges, particularly in PC, it’s not debatable that a physical media copy that you own gives

I find these processes to always be super interesting.

Here’s a crazy wacko idea that discs are useful for:

I can remember. I prefer physical copies for console releases as they can be lent out and resold. I’d be more tolerant of digital games on consoles if they gave us ones with adequate storage space from the start. With games hitting ranging from 30~100gb now and download/install times hitting 2-4 hours you essentially

This comment blows my mind, honestly. I know I’m not the norm, but I can’t remember the last time I didn’t put a disc or cart in my console. Having to redownload/install games is awful and I hate it (and I’m still affected by it with discs).

Sure, if you wait long enough you could probably get a secondhand disc fairly cheap but it’s a slap in the face to not include them considering how much these special editions cost.

This is incredibly stupid and almost certainly a result of there being two different versions of PS5. They have to include the code for

“but when actual abuse victims (like my mother) tell me she was the main abuser”

I misread the title and thought this was about two gamers breaking up over the other’s taste in games. Like, "You hate Kirby? I'm sorry, we can't be together anymore."

In response to the Sony fan who built a smaller PS5 and the Microsoft fan who built a larger X Box Series X, one enterprising Nintendo fan vows to built a custom Nintendo Switch the exact same size as a regular Nintendo Switch.

Remember when Kotaku wasn’t just a video game site? Remember when Kotaku covered anime? Japanese snack foods? Nerd culture in general?

Plenty of websites, FTP servers and BBSes to grab the patches from back in ‘96. Heck, there were whole books of them! ;)

...right after the 254th re-release of Skyrim (yes, even after TES VI’s launch).

Has there ever been a good live-action version of an anime?

I do find the notion of a fan of anime and manga calling gender bending content “western propaganda” quite amusing.

I used to also say “well I’ve been able to enjoy it without spending money” on games such as Diablo Immortal. However the work of journalists such as Laura Kate Dale and James Stephanie Sterling, along with reading many horror stories over the years, has convinced me that there’s a very real human cost to monetization

It’s not really free, which I guess is why they invested so hard on it.
