I find this somewhat strange, because it’s not like the show has some super-compelling hook that was drawing people in regardless of the showrunner/day-to-day writing (or at least any moreso than Night Sky). It also occurs to me that you’ve missed the opportunity to link to AVC’s pre-air reviews of Murray’s previous

Did you forget to add some synonym for “film” at the end there?

Lawrence has apparently butted heads with Russell, but my recollection is that Adams described Lawrence as “Teflon” on the American Hustle set, noting that she herself couldn’t shrug it off like her. Lawrence went on to star in Russell’s next film after Hustle (not counting the film he made earlier, held back for

It appears the site which previously compiled the subtitle differences is offline, so here’s an archived version:

You should watch the original Swedish film.

The Leftovers worked for three seasons... but Tom Perrotta was a writer on that.

Wrong on all counts.

So they look similar to the Targaryens when it comes to one trait, whereas for another trait the Targaryens look more similar to Westerosi than Velaryons.

That’s the world this story takes place in.

The one collaboration between them I’ve seen is The Fighter. And I have to admit, Bale was really good in that.

I suppose it fits, since you want to avoid any contact with mercury lest you be poisoned.

Fatman wasn’t even that edgy as far as Christmas horror movies go. Really disappointing.

GRRM actually made genetics an early plot point in the first book (which was carried into the show Game of Thrones), as Ned figures out that Cersei’s children could not have been fathered by Robert. But it’s also clear GRRM didn’t research how genetics really works and instead just came up with rules like all

Tolkien divided men up geographically, with the Haradrim/Southrons being darker-skinned & fighting against Gondor, while the Easterlings are described as slant-eyed and served as vassals for Morgoth/Sauron. Appearance indicated where someone was from.

You said Targaryens would look weird with platinum hair and dark skin. They are supposed to look weird! The Velaryons looking weird with that combination is fine, it’s looking different from Targaryens that isn’t.

They’re a separate family originally from the same place, and the white hair the show retains reflects their shared descent from a population distinct from Westeros. And people don’t have to hint such things. Distinctive traits like that result from many generations of a population experiencing reproductive isolation

My understanding is that Rings of Power did something similar where nobody takes note of the color of a characters skin, but having pointy ears is a big division. Relying on an audience ignorant of how such distinctions arose in the first place.

They’d look like the Velaryons, which is the point.
