It’s a bit odd referring to “Hannibal” as having a “cliffhanger” since it ended by throwing its leads off a literal cliff.

Jamie remarks that ghost stories and love stories are the same thing really, and that’s an interesting sentiment, to be sure
My understanding was that Borat used a lot of Polish words. Which isn’t exactly Moldovan/Albanian, but is closer to that area than Kazakhstan.
The people he’s interviewing aren’t supposed to know Borat is fictional. If he claimed to be from Ruritania, more people might figure that out.
I would second the recommendation of Southbound, which really is one of the better horror anthologies of the last decade. The part from Radio Silence (who more recently made Ready or Not) in particular.
Originally Baron-Cohen was playing a Moldovan/Albanian character, but since those are close enough to Britain to make trouble, Kazakhstan made an easier target.
Liam Neeson has so thoroughly assimilated his mannerisms that nobody would believe he’s an immigrant!
I agree with some of the points you made about horror. And that’s why I think horror tends to work better in shorter formats: short stories, short films, segments within anthology films, episodic anthology TV series, and feature films that shouldn’t be too long. Horror sequels also have a rather deserved reputation…
Nuclear families where people move out once they grow to be adults are relatively novel. I suppose it is an open question why she didn’t marry. Perhaps since she didn’t have property of her own fewer suitors were interested.
Gangs is the first thing I saw him in. From then on I would say that only a director named Scorsese would catch an actor named DiCaprio as an Irishman. I don’t think I started taking him seriously until Shudder Island.
I still haven’t seen Titanic (or Avatar). True Lies is my last Cameron. I think he peaked with the original Terminator.
Per wikipedia, in 2018 36.6% of the population of Baton Rouge was non-hispanic white, while 54.54% were black. The repeating “6" & “54" in the decimal places does seem like an odd coincidence to me though.
I didn’t think he was that much of a screwup. He was a good cop screwed over by the higher-ups and loses his most recent job through no fault of his own.
I expect that’s less salient in 1980s England vs the US.

I have a hard time believing anyone like season 3.
Is “The Following” really on the level with those? I thought critics only mocked it.
Why hasn’t Blumhouse made a movie with him yet? He already keeps costs low by replacing actors who played the same character in earlier films.
It was a bad idea to turn the Haunting of Hill House into a family drama miniseries. Bly was an even worse idea.
