That died a long time ago.

“Ash Mayfair” isn’t a very Vietnamese sounding name, so this is surprising for a directorial debut.

I’ve lived in Chicago for years, but “26th & California” meant nothing to me prior to reading this post.

The medieval era, which inspired the series.

Sade was on the left, as in the original left to ever be known as such in the revolutionary French National Convention. Even within that left he was on the far left extreme, denying the right to own property and being dubbed later “the first reasoned socialist”.

I also saw Annihilation early in the morning. If I go to the theater and it’s not an advance screening, it’s usually Saturday morning. Tickets are cheaper then.

I don’t get the bit about choking to death.

Usually I hear book readers complain that the show whitewashes Tyrion, who is supposed to be a Richard III type character and particularly dark in A Dance With Dragons.

In the books Cersei says the following:

I think Colin Farrell is always funnier/better when he can use his own accent.

In a discussion of Wonder Woman, comments about that film would be relevant.

I think this is part of their contract with HBO.

I try telling that to A Square, but he insists I’m overcomplicating things.

If the benefit of a social network like Facebook is that everyone is on it, then shouldn’t we expect that after breaking it up the same thing will just happen again as people join whatever the most popular one happens to be at that point?

I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t think it was particularly good either. Once it’s clear that Pennywise is trying to scare rather than kill them, he’s not even scary. I also just didn’t care about the kids generally and found the 80s nostalgia aspect annoying.

Why would that be relevant in this context?

David Benioff wrote The 25th Hour, and that was pretty good. I think him & Dan Weiss are just tired of the show though. It’s a hugely complex beast that has gone on for years, they’re both exhausted and would prefer to be doing anything else.

Cersei refused to help out, so the metaphor would only work if EVERYONE died.

The movies remain exactly as they were.

Kudos on the detailed answer, I was not expecting something that informed from the AVC commentariat! Particularly post-Kinja.
