At least there weren't pictures in yesterday's article.

Dunno. But look at this.

Exactly. Depending on the GOP candidate, I also wouldn't mind if the liberal base really made itself heard in 2016. I'm sick to my stomach of the Democrats relying on black people, Latinos and single women to put them in office without seriously catering to our vote.

Unless the GOP gets their act together in the meantime and runs a moderate candidate, which would admittedly be good for the country as a whole - because this two party system with one party going off the rails is just BS - but maybe bad for Warren's prospects.

I honestly have no idea who they might run, I just know Romney is gunning for it. The Pauls I buy but Chris Christie seems done after that bridge scandal.

Good - for a long time I thought I was alone in that opinion. Although, I'll take it even further: if it truly comes down between Hillary and Romney in 2016, I'd probably vote Democrat but some serious thought would go into it.

Sarah Conner does not get nearly enough love - what a great character.

Ha, good one! It actually kind of took me a while. :)

Plus a wolf sanctuary does seem worthy.

I don't eat much beef, tbh. Except I get drowsy and slow around that time of the month and some red meat does the job pretty well. I try to buy from this locally sourced butcher shop run by lesbians - I feel so fucking leftist even typing that but it is what it is.

I know right? And then when you add in ethics like free-range/fresh caught/not produced with slave labor, it goes from "What the hell can I eat?" to "what the hell should I eat?" to the "What the fuck can I AFFORD to eat and still maintain my principles/self-respect."

My reaction too. All I can do now is :(.

To be fair, there are also a surprising amount of people who apparently love animals - at least from afar - but seem unmoved by human suffering. But at the end of the day, animals probably get the short end of the stick on pretty much everything.

I starred every comment so far in this thread. What are we doing to the planet and our fellow creatures - let alone ourselves?? Guns, racism, sexism and suffering baby animals. :( to the nth degree.

Thanks for responding - it's always good to hear from responsible gun owners. And like I said, it's good to hear from a woman - I live with my husband and so somehow feel "protected" but, then again, we are both incredibly laissez-faire with personal safety, it's ridiculous. I can totally understand how a gun could

Exactly. Call me a masochist, I just want to hear his "explanation" though.

Do you honestly think private schools would be immune to this somehow? My husband teaches at a private school and I honestly think his school lacks even the nominal infrastructure of a public school - literally anyone can walk on campus, it's a joke.

Why would gang shootings that happen at school not be considered school shootings as well?

It sounds like what you're saying is that we need a stronger safety net in addition to much stronger gun control. I think everyone can agree with that, but describing it as a "heart" problem - and I'm blaming the maker of the sign you saw here, not you - is a fucking cop out. It's similar to people pathologizing

I read Adam Weinstein's piece about responsible gun ownership and concealed carry yesterday on Gawker but it's interesting hearing a woman gun owner's perspective. I know you live alone now, but have you ever worried about, say, a kid finding your gun or getting into a violent argument with a partner that ends in
