Yeah, they do hold up to the wash well - my pair are air drying even as we speak - but I can really only squeeze two wears out of them. And I don't do laundry that often so these expensive jeans I bought thinking they would be my go-to, everyday pair have proven to be a poor investment.

That's good to know - I've only owned one pair of Levi's and wasn't impressed with the fit. Now I'm going to have to check them out again.

Good points all around. I'm no doctrinal expert but I would point out that Mother Teresa began her work with the poor in, what, the mid to late 40s? But Vatican II, the origins of modern Catholic doctrine, only took place in the mid 60s.

Maybe quit making your jeans out of that stretchy material that costs you less money but causes them to lose all shape after one wear and then we'll talk. Or does only AG do that?

You're right, I should clarify: she brought the developed world's attention to extreme poverty in the developing world. Still a pretty big deal - especially since we can now, thanks to MT and others, learn about extremem poverty on the "fucking news," which was definitely not the case even forty years ago.

I honestly didn't realize this post would rouse such ardor. Thanks for quoting her wikipedia page but all this does is prove that she supported Catholic doctrine: anti-abortion, pro-baptism. Color me less than outraged - or at least let me aim my outrage at the right target, which would be the Vatican. As for the

Argh. I've typed this comment a few times now and it keeps getting swallowed. BUT I do want to point out that MT's theological views provide proof that she supported Catholic doctrine - and I'm not sure we can or should expect more from her than that. As much as I admire American nuns for handing out condoms, the

Now that is valid criticism, if true. But I'm not sure one academic paper speculating on her misdeeds constitutes truth. What we do know for sure is that Mother Teresa brought the world's attention to extreme poverty like no one else before her or since her - which means she's done more than you and I ever will.

I guess I would ask for the definition of "bitch." I am a bitch. By all or some accounts, Hillary Clinton, Anna Wintour, Margaret Thatcher, Beyonce, Eleanor Roosevelt and Jill Abramson are bitches as well - hmm, I wonder what characteristics all these women share? Oh, right. They're all at the top of their games

I agree and am not outwardly religious though I do believe in a higher power. Christopher Hitchens going on the attack against Mother Teresa comes to mind as a perfect example.

Well. I know how I'll be procrastinating this afternoon! Thanks for the tip!

Oooh. How do you find famous people's astrological charts? Or your own even? Maybe I'm the same moon as Solange too - I am generally considered "the crazy one" by my cohorts.

Every Wednesday?? Get out. Thanks for the tip!

Dude, Bloomingdales has an outlet?? And it has cute stuff for cheap?? You just made my day right now. I must locate and make a pilgrimage to this magical place.

Whoa. I'm all for airing feelings, especially if it helps *prevent* violence, and have definitely wanted to kill family members in my life - but thank god we're not the type to have guns around the house because then all bets would be off.

Wall to wall wool sounds nice - in a coooold climate. Now that I live in the friggin desert, want silk and cotton - I have cute wool sweaters that are too hot for me to wear even in our "winters." But I share your basic dream and wish you well - especially since natural fibers are so much harder to find these days.

I have the same experience with Banana Republic - nice business casual styles, reasonable-esque prices but their stuff that just doesn't last. At this point in my shopping career - or my training? experience? I honestly don't know what to call it - I do pay more for the silk, wool, cotton and linen. It works out

I have gotten CUTE stuff there. But I confess to liking the Neiman Marcus outlet store better.

What is this gif from?? Did she do a behind the scenes on Grown Woman??

I was going to ask half these "normal family" people if they wanted to have an average dinner with my clan and see what happens - but your family pretty much takes the cake. There have never been fires involved in our arguments, for better or for worse. :)
