No.  Mario 64 is debatably the strongest launch title in industry history though. Why?

I’m glad that they refrained.  I’m not against easy modes for any elitist way, but I can’t imagine this game working rebalanced - even remotely.

As someone who imported the original prior to it be announced for NA, I disagree with your assessment. There are plenty of people who, to this day, find it to be the best in the expanded franchise. Now that it’s been brought to modern standards, it opens up a title that few people have had the opportunity to enjoy.…

I probably wouldn’t count BOTW as a Switch exclusive though, which may be the controversial part of the statement.  Without BOTW considered, that’s nearly 20 years of launches without a comparable launch title.

Best exclusive launch title since Halo CE (or BOTW - even though it was available on the WiiU as well). Yeah, I said it.

I didn’t preorder the game, but bought it over the weekend. The way of the Beserker unlocked with my purchase at that time.  Maybe it’s still available to folks who purchase it digitally?

I love this game and I miss Working Designs.  They were modern day Atlus/NIS and offered collector’s edition level goodies prior to the rest of the industry.

Fortunately Elden Ring seems a perfect match for someone who resists writing stories.
