Someone (possibly on here) mentioned the KITH Buddy Holly/Big Bopper skit and I had to watch it again. It is still amazingly hilarious. Then I went down the rabbit hole and have just resurfaced.

Kevin was always my favorite Kid in the Hall. This interview only cements that long ago decision.
(Fun fact: I quoted the "Daddy Drank" skit so much in college that people thought my dad was actually a raging alcoholic. He's not—he's a cool guy!)

And yes, that was a great movie!

I'm not ashamed to tell you folks that my FB status was all HAHAHAHA show set in 1983, that song came out when I was a sophomore in high school in fall of 1987 and oh my God I am old….

Oh Fart Machine, the Miami Connection is amazing. I didn't know what it was either, but my friends insisted that I join them at our local historic theater for a 10pm showing of some "really bad 80s movie". I went, not knowing what to expect. And oh, was it magical!

Agreed. People on Facebook kept talking about how they "stood up and cheered" at the season 2 finale. I just couldn't believe that…until I saw it. And I literally did cheer :)

Not gonna lie. I saw his name as I scrolled through my FB feed and my first thought was, "Shit. Boy is dead." I was kinda happy to scroll back and see he's merely celebrating a birthday. See what you've done to me, 2016?!?!

I'm pretty sure they did. Wasn't this the show where a kid said "suck" and everyone's head flew away in disbelief. Oh, the 80s. Such a simpler time.

Lois Duncan and Lois Lowry, yes!
I downloaded the book Down a Dark Hall to my iPad and was reading along, remembering the first time I read it in the early 80s when—what's this? They are talking about texting? And BluRay and…wtaf? I looked it up and apparently, someone decided to update the books because kids these

I'm again embarrassed/thrilled but I know that it was book #26 called Hostage. I can even see the cover in my mind.

Pretty much! She put on powder and no other make up and went in as a caregiver for the person. I cannot believe I remember this. I am both horrified and thrilled.

"Perfect size 6" is mentioned.

Remember when she and her family were kidnapped? I think because someone wanted to steal her dad's computer chip or some shit

Yes! And Elizabeth—GASP!—gets "fat" by becoming a size 8 or 10.

Did anyone read the Caitlin stories? They came out probably a year or so after SVH started. The titular character was described as just as beautiful as Jessica, but far more devious (IIRC). She was a rich girl in a boarding school who somehow messed up and almost killed someone and then felt THE SHAME so she made

1982 or 1983—they were just bonkers.

Me too! In fact, I have found some websites that go through and mock just how insane the plots really were and I remembered every single one. (Well, I only read up to a certain point). I so wanted a lime green Triumph like Lila had.
