There is some profound irony in this story.

Usually scratch resistance (hardness) and brittleness increase together. A material that is less likely to scratch is usually more likely to break. There are exceptions, especially in man made materials.
And push button starters, which rely on a few cheap bits and bytes instead of expensive complex mechanical systems?
The tacked on screen look is a true abomination to interior design, and solidified acknowledgement that Americans (or all humans?) are so WOWed by the idea of a flashy bright screen that they throw all other considerations and attention away. MUST HAVE MORE SCREENS. MUST LOOK LIKE IPAD
This is part of the reason I am attracted to some of the early 2000s cars. They are new enough that they have some creature comforts and are safe enough, but they aren’t yet bloated like cars of today. As an example, my old 2000 Legacy WAGON felt more nimble than any modern car I’ve driven, and it had a few extra…
I can think of one other painfully obvious bad thing about it, and it is staring right at us in the lead picture.
I, personally, think that it has some of the best proportions of modern cars. The long, sleek front end is proper for a sports car, and it isn’t bulky, blobby, or fat looking, (actual size aside) like so many modern cars, including the newest Miata. Don’t get me wrong, either; I don’t think Miatas are bad looking, but…
The S2000 is certainly not too fast for daily driving. It is just about perfect for being able to blast to redline and have your fun, without getting your license revoked and around town they are easy to drive,
Peeling wheels! I forgot about those. My friend had a PT Cruiser (ugh) that had such bad peeling chrome that it was constantly scraping the brakes. I yanked as much as I could off. There was no saving those wheels.
The best line I ever heard about turbulence is “the airplane can take a lot more than you can.”
Same :sigh:
AND electrical. From day 1, my dad’s concord would turn its interior lights on and off whenever it felt necessary. Chrysler products of this era were known to have bad electrical systems.
When I saw the lead image, I thought “Hey, a Dodge Stratus! That’s a perfect car for Meh Car Mondays.”, but then I clicked it and realized that it was about the Breeze, which quite frankly, I forgot about. This of course solidifies how deeply Meh the Breeze really is. However, I’d like to point out that the Stratus…
Chrysler>gaudy>greenlight
I’m not disagreeing. I was stating that the complaint seems more that there is “one of those annoying infotainment systems” rather than “it has an infotainment system that I wish was better”. In other words, it would be better off without any, rather than just a better one. That’s how I took it, at least.
But that awful, horrible, terrifying front end...
That doesn’t mean that this car is any slower, it just means that somehow the car Gods have decided that a Camry can also be brisk.
To me the complaint would be more along the lines of “it has a clunky infotainment” rather than “the infotainment is clunky”. As in: Infotainment is bad, but clunky infotainment is worse.
