Not to start an argument, but what do you think is currently good about car design in general? The majority of cars made in the last couple years seem to take a generally boring overall shape and simply slap as many garish vents, swoops, etc. on them to make them “exciting”. Not to mention the “brand identity” grilles…

I’m with you. The Audis look much better than the majority of their competition. Every manufacturer is trying to make their cars look way too aggressive, and they are giving up good lines and cohesive design in the process.

I’d much rather have the “boring” looking Audis than the majority of their competitors. Car design is, generally, way over the top and pretty bad right now. Too many grilles, gills, jowls, and scoops.

Do they not realize that the only reason people would buy this VS another performance sedan is that is the “cheaper” alternative? Why would I want to spend a premium on a cheaper alternative?

All of these cars start off life as econobox ‘family’ or ‘city’ cars, and still are ‘cheap thrills.’
