Those are so clearly Nissans that it is absurd.
The thing about “autopilot” and other semi-autonomous “driving aids” is that, even if the driver IS paying full attention, he/she is probably pretty likely not to do anything to override the system until it is too late, as the driver is fully expecting the system to do it for them. Sure, you can look straight ahead…
If they were to fix that abomination of a front end, I think the IS would be a serious contender for the most attractive sedan on the market today.
Your move, Subaru
I liked my GTP, considering how much it cost, at least. They were comfy and could be had with some pretty nice options, including heads up display. I also think they CAN be made to look pretty nice.
As it turns out, the W-body actually had (and still has!) a pretty active group of enthusiasts. 10 years ago there were many good guys on some of the forums, although these days it is mostly a facebook group with a few decent guys and a bunch of morons.
I think the worst part about these cars (OK, aside from how they look) was that they made some of those SS and some special editions without even giving them the S/C 3800.
Why not the grand prix GTP? To me, that was the best looking of the bunch, at least in coupe form. It was also slightly faster than the others, due to lighter weight. Not to mention they had the audacity to make a Monte Carlo SS with the basic, N/A 3800 V6. What a travesty.
No problem. It’s crazy to me how many people aren’t aware of it, but I try to let everyone know when I see a mention of bulbs burning out. I’m not sure what I will do when the warranty runs out, provided I still have the car by then. Many people do HID conversions or LED conversions. I wonder if there is a way to…
You are right, that Subaru will be much more fun to drive than the Audi that will be stuck, torn apart in your driveway.
Or take it to the dealer for the free replacement under the extended 10 year headlight warranty :thumbs up:
Fair enough, although I must say that I have had a 73 MGB for around 15 years and it has honestly been pretty trouble free, and I don’t exactly drive it gingerly. I should point out, however, that the previous owner did re-do all of the wiring. It looks like a rat’s nest, but it seems to be less problematic than I…
Actually, I got out of design and went into test engineering and haven’t looked back. One day of stress at my last job was more than I see here in a year.
I woke up this morning worrying not about pending nuclear war, or whether I will lose thousands in the stupid cryptocurrency that I knew was a bad idea, but rather will there be another useless mall-crawling SUV released today to clog up our streets, impede our vision on the roads, drink our gas, and give people the…
I got an ‘05 Camry from my uncle-in-law for free to use as a winter beater. It has 255k miles of neglect and abuse, with the last year being used as a “pickup on the farm”, hauling wood in the trunk and general other abuse, and the 3 years prior as his daughter’s college car at OSU. That thing has seen some shit, and…
And that is why middle-aged brothers and sisters will persuade their parents to buy one.
And I really can’t get over that body line where the hood ends and the bumper begins. That is truly a crime against decent design.
I’ll admit that I’m not an expert at this point, but is there any history of the Buick/Rover V8 being unreliable? I would imagine that any potential design issues would easily be sorted out during the swap.
