Well I do suppose that “tought” is a relative term. Taking the OEM engine out and putting it back in would probably be “tough” for me haha. What do you plan to do for the rear facing intake? Will the supercharger snout fit inside the factory hood? What about electronics, transmission, and stiffening the body?People

I get that, and I do appreciate it. It is something that I will probably be capable of doing (to this extent, anyway). However, that doesn’t make the end result vehicle any less pointless. But really, if we had the money/time, I’m sure many of us would do silly pointless things just because we could.

All other things aside, the L67s can make some good power pretty easy, but those transmissions are not up to the test. They usually didn’t make it to 100k with a stock engine.

I have often dreamt of this swap into my B, but after reading a bit I realize that it will be a pretty tall order. There are other easier, cheaper, and more documented swaps to yield the same power.

There are many pointless and stupid creations on this earth, especially in the custom car world. People are free to make whatever stupid, pointless, waste of money they want, but I’m also allowed to point out how stupid and pointless they are; that’s America, baby!

I get a serious amount of pleasure when I’m driving passed someone in the opposing lane who is sitting at a green light texting, and honking my horn since nobody behind them will. I feel like some sort of horny hero or something. Wait.. what?

And different is often pointless and stupid, as in this case. I didn’t miss the point, it just isn’t a good one.

And street tires!

Seriously. The wrangler is only good at doing off-road things, and it seems to me that it is no longer good at those.

Yeah, but now it has the added benefit of not being able to do the one thing that it WAS good at.

According to autolist.com, since I couldn’t find actual hatch vs sedan sales, there are currently 732 used 2000-2011 WRXs for sale, of which 1/3 are hatchbacks. Assuming that number is representative of the total sales, I would certainly say that the hatch sold in sufficient volume to turn a profit. The problem is

I made two clear distinctions: Affordable, and enthusiast oriented. The VW satisfies the affordable, but is the only one that does so. Subaru sold A TON of affordable Legacy wagons, and still could. Sure, there won’t be 30 different wagons at a price point, but ONE affordable example is not exactly market saturation.

Well first off, that is only 2 currently available, which isn’t a lot. There are probably 30 Crossover SUVs on the market, in comparison. Second, the Volvo is still a $36,000 base, which still isn’t exactly affordable, not to mention it is a pretty small wagon. The Golf wagon is attractive, and it sells fairly well,

Oh, how I dream of a Golf R wagon in the US

I don’t think it is unreasonable for us to not want to spend $71k on a car...We aren’t asking for high end wagons, we are asking for economy and average wagons.

Well, in fairness, they are only ever made by luxury brand which the majority of jalops are unable to afford new. We aren’t asking for expensive luxury wagons, we are asking for golf R wagons, wrx wagons, legacy wagons, etc. Those would all be much more affordable than the wagons that are offered.

I was on your side, being sarcastic as well. Oh, the power of the internet :sigh:

Actually they got personal with your first comment where you accused him of sucking at a game that you have never seen him play. You are the internet equivalent of the Affliction-wearing dude-bro that intentionally walks too far to the left, hoping to shoulder bump someone into a fight.

That just means you aren’t even good at Peggle! Why does it always have to be connect four and tic-tac-toe for you?

The racetrack determines what geaer you should be in. Not the ratios, the horsepower, the car, or even whether or not the car has multiple gears!
