woahhhh I can’t wait for wagons to be popular again. I never thought about that

You could probably, and pretty easily, wire up the charger underneath the dashboard somewhere so that it is always plugged in and charged.

I had a rough day and ended up in the ancient dark realms of jalopnik. I apologize haha. But really, aside from what other people had mentioned on this thread, not really. I do know that many of the small CUVs are physically the same bodies as their hatch or wagon counterparts, but I don’t really know of any that are

My gut tells me most people will buy this just for bragging rights, and that more than half of them won’t see the strip. I could be wrong, obviously, but most people that want that kind of power for a drag car are willing to build their own motors. I wish there were a way to track this once they start selling, but we

People cannot seem to grasp this fact. In one comment the dude said that the XV body is too tall, and then in another comment he said that a lifted impreza hatch would be perfect.....????????????????

THAT IS WHAT THE CROSSTREK IS! lol

The XV is literally the same thing. It has the same body as an Impreza hatch, but with different cladding and letters on the back.

The Crosstrek is literally a lifted impreza hatch, which has the same body height as the impreza sedan, which is what you currently drive.

Right? Most people who will buy this will never, ever race it, so speed won’t matter. For those who will race it, they will put on skinny fronts for the race.

That has been FCA philosophy for some time now. They are all about image and bragging rights. All of their vehicles are sold the image of macho-ness or sporty-ness, regardless of whether or not the buyers will ever use them for that. Look at the people who buy Chargers and 300s...They are rarely ever people who want

2576 lbs of liquified dinasour burned each mile at 35mph

I definitely agree to some extent, but boost doesn’t come too late in my ‘11 LGT, so it’s not so bad if you drive it just right. I also understand that, at least in the 5th gens, an off the shelf tune considerably increases lower rev band power. There are times when I miss the instantaneous torque from my old

Just like how they ditched the 2.5GT legacy in 2012, and kept the big, old H6, while every other manufacturer ditched (or at least limited) their v6s in favor of 4 cylinder turbos. Subaru has a history of going against the grain, but historically it was for the better, not for worse.

Like I said, the tacked-on tablet is more visually striking, and people are still impressed by screens. I talked to my non-car friend who is more impressed by flash than substance about this a while ago, and he said he thinks the screens on the Benz and Mazdas looks good. He is a perfect example of the car buying

But this would be energy used to build/use it, not the pollution created by building new ones VS driving the existing ones.

Quit thinking long term. We gubment types only think in the obvious short term, and these cars are polluting!

Actually, as much as I despise another crossover, this is a genius idea. All of the young ladies that drove Eclipses in high school several years ago are now grown up and looking to buy crossovers (apparently along with the majority of the country). They will now recognize the name, with fond memories of their sporty

It’s because the average car buyer is still impressed by screens. The more screens the better. The more obvious the better, too. It screams “LOOK AT ME! I HAVE SCREENS! I MUST ALSO HAVE MONEY!” There will be a time when this becomes tiresome, and the screens being to become more integrated design elements. Let’s hope

And if “fun” is all you are looking for, there are many other cars that you can take the roof off of. Not to mention that at least in the case of my friends Wrangler, putting the soft top back on is a 2 person job, minimum. Everything is too small to latch properly

“But it’s AWD!”
