I don't know Dan or Terry, but I think far too many people expect far too much from performers after (or before, or during) a performance. It's impossible to be everything to everyone, and touring is exhausting. You also don't know that he thought you were cruising him.

The large majority of people are stealing it, which does matter, because TV execs are less likely to take chances on something like this again.
