The original release of FFIV After Years was decent. This 3D remake however is absolute garbage. They removed more than half the game just so they wouldn’t have to actually make new assets, and apparently the game is riddled with typos and bugs. It’s an abomination.

Maybe people just like the sexual elements? That’s perfectly fine. And Aquaplus, the creator of this game are legends in the dating sim and erotic game scene. So that’s the context there. It’s never meant to be something that is ‘mass appeal’ like some bloody action game is.

Combining two news items. Steam started charging for some mods the other day.

Yeah, I’ve never played it but I’ve heard as much from lots of people. I need to give that game a try one of these days.

I have to disagree, X-2, Revenant Wings and Crisis Core are fantastic.

Seeing as no developer sets out to make “terrible sequels” your comments come across as needlessly snarky. The only thing buying a sequel would tell them is that maybe people like to see sequels. You can tone down the rest, please. This is the kind of response given that people laugh at Kotaku for.

I still think 13 is one of the best ones ever made, i really dont like what happens in the story for 4 or 6 i think 3 has those 2 beat

YASS, I’m doing the same buddy, I didn’t really like the past few year, there were almos 0 RPGs to play, they are comming back to life again, I’m buying these to enjoy them AND hoping for them to release more. I’d like them to be on CD too though.

That was the other issue. Since the characters had no unique abilities or weapons they were essentially interchangeable and eventually you could have Scathe, Holy and all the uber-magic on everyone. This works for games like Bravely Default but it didn’t feel right in FF XII.

If anything was to convince them of making more scrappy sequels, the sales numbers for the original versions should have. I’m pretty sure FFX-2 did the job on its own, though.

1) its not as bad as you make it out to be, so don’t throw your opinion in like its a fact.
2) If it was so terrible, and sold poorly, they wouldnt be porting it.
3) It encourages them to work on more ports and possibly more sequels, I dont see the issue.
