The best are the easy to wrench, underpowered, and understressed workhorses. The OHV inline sixes from the US fit the bill: Stovebolt, Slant Six, AMC, and Ford 300 cid. I am partial to the Stovebolt but my dream build is a Jeep-sourced 4.0 into a Gremlin or Hornet.

Wrong.  Here’s how AMC could have been saved: Keep George Romney out of politics and steer Roy Abernethy into a career that doesn’t involve anything with wheels. Then Romney would have done with the Rambler American what Iacocca did with the K-Car. THEN AMC coulda bought out Chrysler. 

The United States is either a racist society or it is a society that has a racism problem. We all agree racism is bad and that everybody has to be treated equally.
