No joke, these things were going for over $3k in the late 2000's when gas was nearly $5/gallon. I actually got one for $700 to drive on my hour long one-way commute to work and got over 60mpg with it. Dead simple to work on and reliable. You could lift the entire engine out by yourself with no lift, no problem.
