Exactly. This is why the US fields mechanized infantry in strykers or M2’s that can dismount and clear out enemy infantry that may have anti-tank rockets. A tank operating without infantry support is incredibly vulnerable on the battlefield.

I think the massive amount computers in modern cars makes the idea of a forever car seem kind of unlikely.
