We have had to deal with this. The kiddos are older, now, (late elementary school), but still, if we go to the IL’s, my husband asks to see where the guns are, and ensures that they are secure. If not, then they will be immediately secure, or we leave.

You gotta set rules. I would not let my child out of my sight at a house like that, parents or not. Kid isn't staying overnight ever.
