Why is Ben Kingsley ALWAYS the go-to actor for the Mandarin???? There are dozens of amazing Asian actors who would be far more appropriate.

This looks like the movie we SHOULD have gotten the first time!

Like LOST, they NEED to come out and say when they're going to end it. This is going to get old really quick if we don't know if and when there will be a planned end.

Stuff happens on this show, it just can't happen all that fast otherwise they wouldn't have anything left over for a second season. The slow drip has to be turned on extra slow to milk every Rumple-loving moment out of it.

I like your Star Trek comparison. But using the same point of reference, don't you think there's a point where Nero's "reactions" became SO severe that it warranted a "Dog The Bounty Hunter-lets send 100 guys after one guy" response from the Federation? I actually enjoy shades of grey antagonists myself, especially

Who or what is that photo you have next to Phillip K Dick?

You almost had me riled for a second.....I thought you were referring to Return to Oz as "shit." Was going to have to lay the smack down.

Prove me wrong!

Why does everyone keep ragging on TRON Legacy? It was visually amazing (especially in 3D), had one of the best soundtracks of the decade and the story wasn't god awful.

Do we know why this side has received what looks like FAR more crater damage than the side facing earth?

I want to see that list too!

It's amazing how many of these "last seasons" were the utter WORST of their respective runs. Makes you wonder what would have happened if those shows had instead stuck to their principals as they went out.

well played

Kind of like Michael Ironside as "generic military commander." Although, that's almost become a meme....dare I say badge of honor for a summer movie.

Maybe I'm speaking out of turn, but could they not have Kinglsey's character be head of a company with the word "Mandarin" in it, or perhaps the weapon used to spread the nano-virus is nicknamed The Mandarin. Or would name-checking in anyway be worse than not doing so at all?

You beat me to it!

They're definitely going for a TRON (circa 1982) vibe.

The concept is sound, the execution was just god awful (as were most things in the series in the late 80s). The Valeyard came back in different Big Finish stories and was a pretty terrifying character.

Also, "the fall of the 11th" sets up (in my eyes) the pending regeneration into the Valeyard. If we're going to start asking "Doctor Who?" then the 12 Doctor needs to be a bit more unhinged/scared/unpredictable. How that Doctor deals with and ultimately overcomes becoming the Valeyard makes for several seasons of

Laura Pulver would make the PERFECT Romana if Moffat ever had a mind to bring her back. She was brilliant as Irene Adler and I want to see more!
