This entire app permission scheme is a major pain in the ass to manage. Do I devote time to researching whether each particular app developer is trustworthy enough to allow them access to things like my contact list and GPS location? If so, what for? It's never made clear.

Yeah I had trouble finding a driver for the Broadcom wifi controller, until I found these http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drive⦠. Should work for all the Ubuntu flavors.
