It's not "sweating the details" if people are being berated or otherwise punished for participating in their own cultural practices.

A black woman was turned down for a job after a phone interview for having locs. Black people can not express their own culture without being punished so you can understand how it's hurtful to see others wear it like a costume with no consequence.
White girls wear cornrows and are considered trendy. Black girls wear cornrows and get suspended from school.
There's nothing wrong with sharing, but when one culture takes something from another and is praised for it while the other is punished for that same thing is bullshit.
Evolution is just the first Raimi Spider-Man. Boy likes girl. Old man who raised boy dies. Boy frights green man.
Fuck off back to white privilege wonderland. Race is not an indicator of criminality. Poverty is. And the disenfranchisement of African Americans by whites in this country is the biggest cause of this disparity. Let's not forget all the hillbillies out in meth country or Y'all Queda or do they not count as criminals…
Excuse you, but Black people are still dealing with the legacy of slavery. Have you not seen the news lately? If white people can kill us with impunity, the least they can do is let us have the N-word.
I didn't know Black Twitter represented every Black person in America.
There was a lifetime adaption of it a few years ago starring pre-Twilight Kristen Stewart
Everyone is unknown until they're known so that doesn't fly. Did any one in the US know who Tom Hiddleston was before Thor? Or John Boyega before TFA? Hell no. You never know what's going to be a star making turn. But why don't we listen to you and never try.
I haven't seen Get Out yet, but when I do I'll keep this idea in mind. Thanks for the suggestion
Ok but again, "western" does not mean "white." I have not seen the movie and don't plan to, but do the villains explain why they chose that particular form? Does the Major reflect on what it means to now be seen as a white person? It all seems very shallow and a half-hearted defense of whitewashing.
Lol. That's not her real name and it's mostly Black American slang from the 90s
So we need a comics Rumspringa?
You'd think with black kids he's know "Riri" is slang for retard but BMB don't listen to nobody but BMB
It doesn't help that comics aren't sold at supermarkets anymore. I begged for my first X-Men comic at a Waldbaum's
You're exactly right. Start getting new characters in movies and tv and they'll find fans. How about some Ms. Marvel and Ironheart Barbie dolls?
Duke, Batman's new partner, is not Robin and the current Robin is mixed race as is Dick Grayson (which admittedly is a retcon that writers forget about) so yeah.
Anime is stylized because Japanese people are homogeneous and it is bad character design to make everyone look alike. Sailor Moon has blue eye and blonde hair but she's still from Tokyo. Like the article says, The Simpsons are yellow but that doesn't mean they're not white.
How is erasing someone's racial identity subversive and just disgusting? Not trying to start a fight but I'd really like to understand your perspective.
