I've certainly done that on vacation many times.

To be fair, we do miss stuff, and we appreciate the corrections. But it's possible to point out an error without being a jerk. I assume anyone who says "Hire a copy editor, idiots!" is drunk, and probably a heckler in their spare time.

U left off yr peroid at the nd.

Again proving the rule that any comment correcting someone else's spelling or grammar will probably have a spelling or grammar problem itself.

@avclub-a4e40fd7ffef32edf1e47c862ae91e28:disqus Well done, Mich. Here's your sickly-sweet powdered-sugar-covered hard-candy reward.

I found 56 Up really heartening. All these people who had so many problems, so many failed relationships and dead-ended careers and frustrations in life, now seem pretty content in themselves, apart from Neil's lingering feeling that no one cares about his writing. There's much less of a sense of universal failure and

Yeah, that sequence drives me nuts. "We took the kids to a recreation park where they could do whatever they wanted." A recreation park for ’60s Britain looks like a bomb crater full of debris.

She was a promo item for Raising Hope, and we decided to keep her. Also, she ended up with the Jersey Shore shark.

I've come to accept the "ingenues fall in love at first sight" business in stories (see also Sweeney Todd, Romeo & Juliet, etc.) as a necessary elision so we can skip hours of "getting to know you better and realizing we have a lot in common and might be building the kind of affection that will deepen into the love

Every time I've encountered someone who was really, really angry about the Narnia books, it's because they encountered them in childhood and loved them, and only found out about the Christian metaphor later, and felt they'd been betrayed by Lewis, and forcibly proselytized when they were too young to have the hatred

Further complicating the matter, from what I've read, Ed Sullivan Productions originally owned the rights to this one rather than Henson Productions. And who knows what's become of the former company, or where its assets went.

Noted and added to Netflix queue, thank you.

So glad that fest reeled in new fans. But no HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE? Had you come to the right screening of that film, you could have seen me geeking out about that film so hard that I was breathless for most of my post-film chat.

I personally loved the novel but hated the ending not because her search for atonement was counter to the purpose of art, but because it was counter to the purpose of atonement itself. Writing someone a happy ending does not in any way change what actually happened to that person. It always seemed to me like it was a
