Two men tried to lure her into their car, under false pretenses. If you can read that and come away thinking Kevin Smith is the sad excuse for a man, you must just really hate Kevin Smith, amirite?

And come on, he made Dogma. And God was played by Alanis!

Please. Woman here who is proud to work in the comic industry. Take you snobbery and go read a graphic novel because you’re severely misinformed about who should be reading comics, and at what age you should stop. Here’s a hint, it’s the same age you should give up on reading. Perhaps you’ve already done that and

to me, it looks like buffys face is full of fillers, her neck don’t lie.

I was going to read it, to see what the hype was about, but couldn’t even get past an excerpt.

He’s FORTY.

That doesn’t make me a selfish person so much as someone who simply does not believe she has the prerogative to blow up a marriage of several years

Oh my god, the rest of the world has discovered otherkin.

Yup. I am sometimes accused of being undiplomatic or unprofessional when the same behavior by older white male scientists is approved as authoritative.

Same. Amazing PI in every other way. Once referred to me as “Science Spice” because I sounded too much like a teenage girl.

Yep. And the other thing is that academics are so often progressives that there’s no chance you can convince any of the old white men in charge they have any biases whatsoever. So many of them are just self-satisfied boomers with no self-awareness but plenty of tenure.

Slightly off-topic, but this comment is funny to me because my supervisor is almost exactly the opposite. He’s frustrating as a research advisor (very scattered attention, fairly absent due to too many outside commitments) BUT he’s extremely outspoken in support of feminist stuff. If another older male scientist says

Anyone in any STEM field who says there isn’t a problem with sexism, harassment, and even open misogyny is either part of the problem, an ostrich, or simply a liar. It’s absolutely pervasive. You can start an impassioned argument by asking a group of engineers whether MRAs outnumber feminists in any particular field.

The last time Jennifer Lawrence played anything other than Jennifer Lawrence was Winter’s Bone. Completely disagree that she’s good at pretending to be somebody else. Meryl Streep is ridiculously talented and her various roles/transformations are proof of that. They’re not even on the same planet.

I completely agree—When I saw that photo of her on the cover of Love (which is styled beautifully, btw), it broke my heart. If I were her parents, I’d be even more heartbroken. That look of malaise and boredom is so practiced. I just... it would crush me if my 15 year old was wearing that look in her eyes. It’s plenty

Fuck yea! let’s idolize white girls who will look like a teenager well into her twenties as she uses fashion and looks to get ahead in the world! fuck yea!

Wait is this satire I can’t tell. Why the fuck should I care about another tiny thin white chick who’s fetishized for her ability to make friends with other rich people?

She’s thin, she’s white, she’s the daughter of famous Hollywood people.

Don’t get me wrong, I love celebrity gossip but I’m sick of teenagers being shoved down my fucking throat simply because they have pretty and famous DNA. It’s not good for them and it sure as hell is not good for us and I’m just sad to see it on Jez.

This makes me sad that a website for grown women is following the rest of the media in fetishizing the teenage offspring of two formerly good-looking and famous people. That’s the entire sum of her ‘talent’ and no good can come of thrusting a fifteen year old into fame as we have seen time and time again. Sad all

A new blond celebrity? And she’s a white woman? Oh shocker! Let’s do an article every day about her for 500 days because blond white women are so fascinating and oh so rare.
