Can we stop shaming Black women for the choices they make?

I don't really think this discussion is your place. I don't really care about what you think is strange, what Black women should or shouldn't be proud of, what we should and shouldn't be doing in the world according to you. Like zap rowsdower said, have a seat, in fact, have several seats.

This. Thank you. I wear my hair natural, but I still rock weaves, wigs and braids for convenience and to safe time, protective styling and just to change up my style.

This dude does this all the fucking time. I told him straight up, if you're not a Black woman, I really don't care for your second hand accounts taken from the one Black woman in your life, when I have a first hand account as a Black woman which is so much more valid.

Oh, it's you again. Mr. I'm married to a Black woman so my opinion is valid! Barf. Please stop with this. If you're not a Black woman, I really don't care for your opinion about a) what you think Black women do or think b) what you think they should and shouldn't be doing.

are you a Black woman?

You're very uninformed.

Can white women stop using us and our Black bodies as a punchline for their shitty joke, to sell their crappy books, to absolve themselves of racist acts, to create publicity for themselves, etc. Stop.

And just a reminder, white people often cannot see racism because they are involved in it, upholding it, consciously and unconsciously. Trust me, a Black woman, when I tell you what she did was racist as fuck.

No. People's cultural ignorance is a symptom of their racism, as critical race theory defines it: dysconscious racism. You need to move away from this myth that racism requires intent. The comments she made fit into and are a result of the racist discourse that Black people are homogenous. This is the result of

I see your shawarma and raise you one tacos al pastor (shawarma's cousin).

I've noticed you're very confused today. Maybe you should do more research about this. I say this is the nicest possible way.

This. Thank you. Those national identities are very new and a result of colonialism.

No. Can't stand her.

Because most African-American people have no way of knowing where in Africa they came from. They don't have that privilege and DNA testing is a relatively new and expensive thing. Futhermore, it is a politically unifying term, just like Black is, which helped forge strategic solidarity in the face of white supremacy.

Degrassi High, the original series from the 80s. Melanie gets sprayed in the eye by the amazing Tabi.

Wifey.

That makeup as well. Swoon.

I know right? I'm just not a fan but somehow that makes me a misogynist troll, even though I happen to be a Black womanist who posts frequently on here with an extensive commenting history. Womp womp.

Sadly I've seen this more than enough times to tell you that some people actually do think this way.
